SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

We don’t just put our hearts into the business. We’re truly passionate about giving back to the community, and consider it a responsibility and privilege to support youth and women with our time, expertise and funding. Our ongoing support also includes education for all people at all levels and at all ages – and access to basic life needs such as shelter, health, food and compassion.

In addition to supporting numerous local nonprofits – such as Fresh Start Women’s Foundation, New Pathways for Youth and United Cerebral Palsy of Central Arizona – we have launched two charitable initiatives as a company:

Grow Kids & Grow U

These programs are comprised of kids and teens who care about other kids and teens. We provide opportunities for children to support one another through education, giving and physical activities. Programs include:

  • Backpacks & School Supplies: Enables kids to volunteer their time to shop for backpacks and other school supplies for children in need. The youth volunteers have delivered hundreds of stuffed backpacks to their peers throughout Phoenix and Tucson, including those involved with the New Pathways for Youth. Check out videos of this wonderful event from 2015, 2014 and 2013.
  • CE Wilson Prom Closet: Provides teens who could not afford to attend prom with free dresses. During its first year, the closet gave 75 underserved girls at Basha High School the opportunity to take part in this lifelong memory.

Scholarships

Mind My Business (MMB) Scholarship

CE Wilson established the MMB Scholarship program to promote and support the brilliant and courageous women and youth who dream of owning their own businesses – and then using that business to support their community. Since 2012, we have awarded 12 scholarships to innovative and compassionate entrepreneurs-to-be.

HBCU Scholarships

CE Wilson supports the continuing higher education of youth. We have recently teamed with the Tucson Unified School District, which is providing exposure to educational opportunities for graduating students. We awarded tuition scholarships to students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and scholarships for students taking HBCU college tours. Those students taking the college tour attend about six HBCUs.

“Your gift will be instrumental in changing a student’s life, and that of his family. Every year Tucson Unified School District sends approximately 16 students on the “Black college tour.” For many of them the dream of attending an HBCU is never realized because of financial constraints. Your generosity will make that dream a reality for one of the students. My hope is that other companies or individuals will be inspired when we share what C.E. Wilson has done for our students and community.” – Jeffrey Sawyer, Behavior Specialist, TUSD
